Wafer Butterfly Valve

Wafer butterfly valve‌ is a common industrial pipeline valve, which is mainly used to control the fluid medium in the pipeline.

It is characterized by its compact structure and is especially suitable for places with narrow space or short pipe spacing. The wafer butterfly valve connects the valve between two pipe flanges by a stud, making installation and maintenance relatively easy.

It can be opened and closed quickly by rotating 90°, which is easy to operate, and the valve has good fluid control characteristics.

When the butterfly valve is in a fully open position, the thickness of the butterfly plate is the resistance of the medium flowing through the valve body, so the pressure drop generated by the valve is very small, so it has better flow control characteristics.

Design Features:

   • The valve is designed to fit between two pipeline flanges, secured by bolts passing through the flanges. This design eliminates the need for additional flange connections, reducing weight and installation space.

   • The wafer-type butterfly valve is designed to handle flow in both directions, making it versatile for various piping configurations.

5. Materials of Construction:

   • The valve body is typically made from cast steel, stainless steel, or other alloys, depending on the application. The disc and seat materials are selected based on the media and operating conditions.
